Tooth Calendar Privacy Policy
Tooth Calendar (“the app”) sends parents reminders and articles timed to their child’s dental development. The app has no sign-up and the operator runs no server. The operator does not collect or store your personal information. This policy explains how information is handled inside the app and what the advertising service included in the app processes.
1. Information kept only on your device
The following information you enter is stored only on your device and is never sent to the operator or any third party:
- Your child’s nickname, date of birth or due date
- Tooth chart records (including marks and notes for each tooth), brushing records, and which articles you have read
- Dental visit records (visit dates, treatments received, notes) and the next appointment date
- App settings such as notification time, quiet hours, language and country
This information is used only to calculate the notification schedule and display the app. Notifications are local notifications scheduled on the device and do not pass through any server. The date of birth is never included in any network request, including ad requests.
If you have turned on operating-system backup (Android Auto Backup or iCloud Backup), this information may be included in your own backup. That backup is managed in your Google or Apple account, and the operator cannot access it.
2. Advertising and information processed by the ad service
The app is free and shows one Google AdMob banner, labeled “Advertisement”, below the text of article screens for parents. No ads are shown on the toothbrushing timer screen that children use.
- The app requests non-personalized ads only. It does not request ads tailored to your interests, and on iOS it does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.
- To serve ads, Google may process device information (device identifiers such as the advertising ID, device type and operating system), IP address, and interaction information such as ad impressions and clicks. Even for non-personalized ads, this information may be used for frequency capping, fraud prevention and ad measurement.
- Users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent form through Google’s consent management tool and can change their choice from the app’s settings.
- How Google uses information: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, Google Privacy Policy
You can reset or limit the advertising ID in your device settings (Android: Settings › Privacy › Ads; iOS: Settings › Privacy & Security › Apple Advertising).
3. App update check
When it starts, the app downloads one small version file from this website (GitHub Pages) so it can tell you when a new version is available. The request contains no personal information: no child details, date of birth, settings or device identifiers. As with any internet request, GitHub may process technical information such as your IP address, under the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
4. Ads and cookies on this website (blog)
Article pages on this website may show one Google AdSense ad, labeled “Advertisement”, at the end of the article. The website has no sign-up or input forms, and the operator does not collect visitors’ personal information.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can turn off personalized advertising in Google My Ad Center, and opt out of other third-party vendors’ cookies at www.aboutads.info.
- Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are first shown a consent screen through Google’s consent management tool.
- More information: How Google uses cookies in advertising, How Google uses information from partner sites
5. Sharing and processors
Because the operator does not collect personal information, it does not share it with or entrust it to anyone. The ad services (Google AdMob in the app, Google AdSense on this website) process the information in sections 2 and 4 directly under Google’s policies.
6. Retention and deletion
Information on your device stays there until you delete it. Tapping Settings › Delete all data in the app, or uninstalling the app, removes all of it from the device. Data export in settings saves your records as a file on the device; it is not sent to the operator.
7. Children’s information
The app is intended for parents and guardians (adults). Information about a child is entered by the parent and never leaves the device. The app does not request personalized ads targeted at children.
8. Your rights
You can edit or delete your information in the app at any time. The operator holds no copy of your information, so there is nothing separate to access, correct or delete on request. Rights regarding information processed by the ad service can be exercised through Google.
9. Medical disclaimer
Articles in the app are general educational information and do not replace professional care. Please consult a dentist about your child’s condition.
